Job summary

CBRE in Canada seeks a Finance Manager to lead the team driving financial strategy and operations. You will oversee the development of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and strategic plans while delivering high‑impact management reporting.

You will provide critical oversight for financial policies, ensure sound controls, and partner with senior leaders to inform decisions. Strong leadership, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
  • Intermediate math skills for calculating percentages, fractions and financial figures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor staff development, conduct performance evaluations and coaching; oversee recruiting and hiring.
  • Coordinate and manage daily team activities; set work schedules, assign tasks and cross-train staff; track deadlines.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and standard management reporting.
  • Review balance sheet account analysis, cash flow statements and supporting schedules; ensure accuracy of reports.
  • Review and approve basic monthly journal entries.
  • Produce routine and ad hoc financial reports and pro forma analyses for senior management.
  • Coordinate development of accounting policy and procedures.
  • Explain difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle sensitive issues.
  • Influence stakeholders to reach agreement and lead by example aligned with CBRE RISE values.
  • Apply knowledge of discipline with others to achieve department objectives.
  • Identify and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues in systems and processes.

What You'll Do
  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

The salary range being offered for this Finance Manager position is between $90,000 annually and $120,000 annually. The compensation that is provided to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
