Job summary

Stan, a leading AI solutions provider for HOA and Condo managers, seeks a hands-on finance professional to build and scale the Finance function. You will own day-to-day finance operations, reporting to the Head of Finance, and shape systems, planning, and insights as the company scales.

You will work across accounting operations, FP&A, and strategic analysis with ownership from day one. Ideal candidates have CPA, 4–7 years’ experience, and a passion for automation and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• Strong grounding in accounting and financial analysis, including month-end close and balance sheet management.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Excellent ability to communicate with non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting for the board and investors.
• Lead revenue recognition, consolidated reporting, and external audit ownership with policy judgment.
• Manage billing, invoicing, AR/collections, and support AP and payments with strong controls.
• Evaluate and improve finance systems, automation, and AI-driven processes.
• Support sales tax, compliance, SRED processes and other recurring finance requirements.
• Assist with annual operating plan, forecasting, and cash-flow/runway visibility.
• Partner with department leaders on budgeting vs. actuals and KPI reporting.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and build business cases for major investments.

The Role

We're looking for a hands-on finance professional to help build and scale our Finance function — a rare chance to shape how Finance works at Stan from the ground up, not just execute an existing playbook. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you'll get a front-row seat to how a fast-growing AI startup runs, with real ownership over key parts of our day-to-day finance operations as you help build stronger reporting, planning, systems and financial insights as the company grows.

This is a broad, high-visibility role for someone who enjoys both getting into the details and improving how things work. You'll work across accounting operations, FP&A, systems, automation and strategic analysis, with real ownership from day one.

Tasks

• Month-End Close: Own the monthly close process and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting for the board and investors
• Technical Accounting: Revenue recognition, consolidated reporting, and external audit ownership, with real accounting-policy judgment.
• Billing & Collections: Own billing, invoicing, AR/collections, and support AP and payments, building stronger controls as you go.
• Automation & Intelligent Workflows: Evaluate, implement and continuously improve our Finance systems (billing, sales tax, spend management, reporting infrastructure), bringing a curious, AI-forward mindset to automating recurring processes and surfacing insights faster.
• Compliance: Support sales tax, compliance, SRED process and other recurring finance requirements.
• Planning & Forecasting: Support the annual operating plan, forecasting, and cash-flow/runway visibility.
• Business Partnering: Build and maintain budget-vs-actual and recurring KPI/management reporting, partnering directly with department leaders.
• Strategic Finance: Identify cost‑saving opportunities and build the business cases behind major investments and capital-allocation decisions.

Requirements

Must-Have

• Relevant Experience: 4–7 years of progressive finance experience, with a CPA designation.
• Technical Foundation: A strong grounding in accounting and financial analysis, including month-end close and balance sheet management
• Comfortable with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Startup Grit: Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where processes may still need to be built. You take an outcome and drive it through rather than waiting for instructions.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to work directly with non-finance stakeholders and explain the “why” behind the numbers.

Nice-to-Have

• Systems Orientation: Genuine interest in improving processes through technology, automation and AI, and experimenting with new tools to translate them into practical workflow improvements.
• Prior experience at a SaaS or technology company with an understanding of SaaS metrics
• Public Accounting Background: Experience at a Big 4 or public accounting firm.
