COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Finance Director in Mississauga to lead FP&A, budgeting, and management reporting. The role partners with senior executives, drives KPI clarity, and shapes the 5-year plan with budget ownership.

The candidate will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and business case evaluation, while building a high-performing team and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety policies. Canadian work eligibility is considered, with a focus on strategic financial leadership.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience; CPA required.
  • 10+ years of work experience with a minimum of 7 years in FP&A and 3+ years in a leadership level.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done; trusted advisor of business leadership.
  • Proven ability to operate under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deliverables.
  • Collaborative thinking with cross-functional approaches and consensus building; establish a unique point of view.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of leading and contributing as required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a dynamic partnership with senior executives in Food Service and Facility Management.
  • Develop and evolve management reporting; drive KPI clarity and actions.
  • Own and evolve the Operational 5 Year plan and budget with senior management.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes; craft the financial story.
  • Provide business decision support and build financial structures for initiatives.
  • Lead a team in in-depth analysis and reporting, advancing the function over time.
  • Recruit, coach, and retain high-performing talent; implement succession planning.
  • Ensure Health & Safety policies and requirements are followed.

Job description

Thesalaryrange for this position is $140,000 to $160,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards program will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role. Please note that artificial intelligence–based tools may be used at certain stages of the recruitment and applicant screening process.

Now, if you were to come on board as our Finance Director, we would ask you to do the following for us:

  • Develop a dynamic partnership with the senior executives responsible for Food Service and Facility Management in a sector
  • Develop and evolve management reporting: ensure the business departments and the corresponding executives understand their key numbers, key value drivers and KPIs. Develop the appropriate reporting down to key actions
  • Own and evolve the numbers for the Operational 5 Year plan and budget: work with the Executives and Senior Management Team to develop the annual and the long-term strategic plan ensuring clarity of drivers, milestones and numbers
  • Develop and manage the appropriate top down and bottom up budgeting and forecasting processes: compile the information, manage the assumptions and develop the financial story
  • Provide business decision support: evaluate options, develop and validate business cases against new projects and strategic initiatives, support business initiatives. Partner with the various departments to provide financial structure, context and guidance to on-going business initiatives
  • Lead and manage a team in the preparation of in-depth analysis of the business and management reporting, challenge the business results, continuously evolve the reporting to reflect evolving context, data availability and priorities
  • Recruit, select, hire and on-board the best talent; lead, coach, motivate and retain a team of high performing employees that are capable of delivering results by owning, explaining, critiquing and improving the management accounts, key value drivers and associated departmental reporting
  • Recognize and reward extraordinary performance; give feedback and develop performance improvement plans for underperforming employees. Implement succession planning, team building and skill development
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
