Position Overview
ISNA Canada is seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Coordinator to support the organization’s day-to-day financial operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely payment processing, accurate budget tracking, and reliable financial support. The Finance Coordinator will also contribute to reconciliation efforts, expense oversight, and provide general administrative assistance within the finance portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Expense Processing
  • Process invoices, staff reimbursements, and vendor payments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review payment requests to ensure compliance with internal policies and approved budgets.
  • Maintain organized records of all outgoing payments and flag any discrepancies.
Monthly Reconciliation & Variance Support
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly variance reports comparing actuals to budget.
  • Work with internal teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Budget Tracking & Financial Monitoring
  • Support the development, tracking, and maintenance of program and departmental budgets.
  • Monitor organizational spending and ensure alignment with budget allocations.
  • Assist teams with budget-related queries and provide basic guidance on financial procedures when needed.
Administrative & Cross-Functional Support
  • Provide administrative support to the finance function, including document management, meeting coordination, and report preparation.
  • Assist in organizing financial documentation for audits, grant reports, or board meetings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data collection and reporting.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in nonprofit finance, accounting, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, reconciliation, and accounts payable processes.
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
