Job summary

Kensington Grey is seeking an organized Finance Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations in a fast-paced, creator-driven agency. The role covers accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and vendor onboarding, with a focus on accuracy and timely payments.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in finance, a relevant diploma, strong Excel skills, and autonomy to handle multiple priorities in a hybrid Toronto or Montreal setting.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or administrative support.
  • Internship or co-op experience in finance/accounting is required if no full-time working experience.
  • Experience in agency, media, or talent environment is a strong plus.
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (AP/AR, reconciliations).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter with strong autonomy and problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets

Responsibilities

  • Support the team in the processing of vendor invoices, creator payments, and expense reports with accuracy and timeliness
  • Verify and reconcile invoices against contracts, SOWs, and internal approvals
  • Maintain vendor records and support onboarding of new vendors/creators
  • Generate and issue client invoices aligned to campaign deliverables
  • Maintain AR aging reports and flag risks or delays
  • Investigate and resolve irregularities, including billing issues and discrepancies
  • Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Apply payments based on remittance details and work to minimize or eliminate unapplied cash.
  • Perform data entry of financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate financial records across systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Lumi)
  • Act as the primary point of contact and liaison for internal financial inquiries (Slack channel and finance email inbox)
  • Support Finance team on audits, reporting, and compliance
  • General administrative support and special projects when assigned

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Financial Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-paced, creator-driven agency environment.

This is an entry-level hybrid role across accounts payable and receivable, ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, highly autonomous, and thrives in a high-volume, transactional environment.
