Job summary

Northland Properties Corporation, Vancouver, is seeking an Accountant to join the Resorts Accounting Team. This full-time role reports to the Controller and focuses on delivering accurate, timely financial results and strong internal controls within a fast-paced hospitality environment.

You will lead full-cycle accounting, manage tax remittances, reconciliations, and reporting, while partnering with operations to drive improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA designation or equivalent.
• 3–4 years experience in full-cycle accounting with GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel and ERP systems preferred.
• Strong financial analysis and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead full cycle accounting responsibilities ensuring accurate and timely results are provided to the business.
• Preparing and submitting government tax remittances.
• Routinely perform periodic bank account reconciliations.
• Prepare periodic financial update and various other reports.
• Liaise with operations management on accounting issues.
• Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain effective internal controls, identify risks and propose recommendations for required control changes as necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, prioritizing automation where possible.
• Build great working relationships with the business to promote synergies.
• Support the annual external financial statement audits and tax filing requirements.
• Perform other accounting duties as required.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• CPA designation, or equivalent
• Minimum of 3-4 years experience in full-cycle accounting role with a strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Strong financial analysis skills and independent problem solving
• Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within established deadlines and time constraints
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to have fun and be a great team player
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and ERP systems (Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations experience would be considered an asset)
