CGC Inc. is recruiting a Maintenance Technician - Welder for our quarry operation in Little Narrows, Nova Scotia.

This permanent, full-time role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and may require evenings, weekends or overtime based on operational needs. The successful candidate will perform maintenance on plant equipment, assist with installation and upgrades, and follow preventative maintenance programs while prioritizing safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Technical training with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience; Red Seal certification is preferred but not required
• Experience with Stick welding, Mig welding, Gouging, cutting torches, grinding and anything related to steel fabrication.
• Proven mechanical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills with experience following preventative maintenance programs
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturer manuals to guide installation and repairs
• Experience in crushing / milling and ship loading procedures are nice to have but not required
• Ability to evaluate performance and leverage tools to retain, engage and develop team members
• A track record of great work performance, attendance, and safety behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on plant equipment including crushers, conveyors, pumps, mobile equipment and piping in a quarry setting
• Work as part of a team to install, assemble and upgrade machinery as production increases
• Conduct routine checks, preventative maintenance and adjustments on various equipment
• Address mechanical failures to safely and effectively minimize equipment downtime
• Actively support company values and initiatives around diversity & inclusion, continuous improvement, training & development, etc.
