Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, is seeking Journeyperson Welders to join a field-heavy, 7x7 rotation. You will weld major mining equipment in the field and shop, adhering to safety and quality standards.

This role offers strong premiums and relocation assistance compatible with site requirements. You’ll work on large mining equipment, read blueprints, and collaborate with a skilled team, with travel up to 25% within Canada and the USA.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years welding experience.
• Experience repairing mining equipment (trucks/shovels).
• Read blueprints and follow standards.
• Able to work independently in field or shop.
• NDT or CWB experience is a plus.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Weld and repair mining equipment in the field and in the shop.
• Perform all-position welding using GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW.
• Complete maintenance and repair work at client sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints and follow quality standards.
• Use oxy/fuel cutting equipment and electric welding machines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Prioritize safety for yourself and your team.
