Job summary

Komatsu Canada is seeking a skilled welder for field service on the largest mining equipment. You will weld, repair, and inspect machines in remote locations across Canada, following blueprints and quality standards.

The role requires a Journeyperson Welder (Red Seal preferred) with strong safety practices and the ability to travel up to 25%. Compensation includes competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

• Experience with P&H or Joy mining equipment is a bonus.

Job Overview

Reports to:General Supervisor, Field Service
Shift:7x7, rotation of days/nights
Allowances: Additional allowances may be associated with this position due to location
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required.
Travel: up to 25% within Canada and potentially some in the USA
Relocation:This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities

• Weld, repair, service, and inspect heavy mining equipment
• Work with GMAW, FCAW, SMAW in all positions and wire sizes
• Read and interpret blueprints and follow company quality standards
• Use oxy/fuel cutting equipment and electric welding machines
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe
• Look out for your crew and maintain a strong safety culture

Qualifications/Requirements

• Journeyperson Welder (Red Seal preferred); NDT/CWB an asset
• Experience with P&H or Joy equipment is a bonus
• No restrictions for accessing any mine site
• Heat‑treating and 1/16 wire experience are assets
• Valid, unrestricted class 5 driver’s license
• Able to lift 50 lbs safely
• Strong customer‑service mindset and solid communication
• Organized, safety‑focused, and able to work independently
• Comfortable working in remote locations and supporting other trades when needed
