Job summary

Metro Testing + Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Field Testing Technician to join our Burnaby branch. You will travel to multiple job sites daily to test concrete, soils, and asphalt, with no prior experience required and full on-the-job training.

We offer comprehensive benefits after 3 months, PPE allowances, mileage reimbursement, a company cell phone, and opportunities for advancement within the testing departments. Strong English skills and a valid driver's license are essential.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Ability to lift and move weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Test concrete before the pour to ensure specifications are met.
• Interpret test results and produce reports.
• Build relationships with site personnel to support long-term collaboration.
• Travel to job sites across Vancouver area including Burnaby, New Westminster, Richmond, and surrounding cities.

Metro Testing + Engineering is one of the busiest and largest Construction Materials Testing Lab is Western Canada. We are looking for people who want to start a career as a Field Testing Technician. Our field testing technicians visit multiple job sites daily and they will test concrete, soils or asphalt. If you love to be on the road and meeting people, it could be your next opportunity.

No experience is required, and you will be trained by our experienced technicians and receive industry recognised certifications. you will be working at our Burnaby Branch Office.

What you will be doing

• Test concrete before the pour and ensure they meet the specifications and industry standards
• Interpret the test results and to produce reports
• Building relationship with site personnel to foster long term business collaboration
• Travelling to job sites in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Richmond, Coquitlam, Port Moody and Port Coquitlam.

Who we are looking for

• Interested in career in the Construction Materials Testing industry
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
• Good command of the English language.
• Ability to lift and control weights up to 23 kgs / 50 lbs
• Experience as an General Labour/assistant at construction sites is an asset
• post secondary education in civil engineering is an asset but not required.
