Field Technician - Summer/Contract Position

Summer Student Field Technician (Contract Position)

Indoor Environmental Quality

Location: Mississauga, ON

Pinchin is currently recruiting a Summer Student Field Technician for a contract position in our Mississauga office for approximately 2.5 months. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Field Technician will conduct worker exposure and workplace monitoring, safety inspections, and audits. You will assist in developing hygiene, health, and safety documentation, prepare technical reports, and liaise with clients to meet their needs and goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete assessments for mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), industrial hygiene, designated substances, and other hazardous materials.
  • Conduct interviews with clients regarding building history and site-specific concerns.
  • Perform inspections and evaluate building systems.
  • Assess damages related to floods, water losses, smoke, and fire.
  • Assist clients following emergency events to dry, clean, or remediate buildings and restore operations.
  • Collect mould and bacteria samples.
  • Identify and sample suspect asbestos, lead, and PCB-containing materials.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations for IAQ and hazardous materials concerns.
  • Inspect abatement and restoration contractors to ensure proper completion of work.
  • Prepare reports and drawings detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain and improve quality control within the team.
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Excellent technical report writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Availability to work outside core hours and rotational weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance, as travel around the region is required.
  • Ability to undergo security clearances as required by clients.
