Hansler Industries in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a Field Technician (Forklift or Heavy Equipment Mechanic) to join our service team. You will diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment for our loyal customers.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of repair experience, a valid driver’s license, and a Red Seal/Journeyperson ticket. Experience with hydraulics, electric engines, and Linde forklifts is a strong asset; travel within the region is

• 5+ years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience.
• Provincial Red Seal or Journeyperson ticket required.
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing electric engines is a strong asset.
• Experience on Linde forklifts is a strong asset.
• Aerial platform and lift truck experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and complete routine maintenance and safety inspections on material handling equipment and machinery.
• Maintain communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing jobs and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Discuss Service job details with customers and confirm the scope and repair requirements.
• Coordinate with Parts to order and prepare required parts before visiting sites.
• Maintain proper documentation including work orders and warranty paperwork.
• Report safety incidents promptly and adhere to safety policies.

The Opportunity

Hansler Industries is looking for a mechanically skilled Field Technician (Forklift or Heavy Equipment Mechanic) to join our Service team in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
• Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements
• Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites
• Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork
• Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

• At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry
• Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket or a Relevant Red Seal Trade Certification
• Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
• Previous experience working on Linde Forklifts would be a strong asset
• Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• High school diploma
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required

The base pay range for this role is: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour, depending on experience.
