Field Technician (CO-OP)

GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Ontario and Atlantic Canada, and we are looking for motivated and skilled Field Technicians to join our Team. We currently have openings for contract Field Technicians in our Ottawa, Ontario office.

Educational & Experience Requirements

• Currently enrolled or recently completed a College Diploma in civil technology or an equivalent program is considered an asset.
• Experience with materials testing and inspection is an asset.
• Experience working in civil construction is considered an asset.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written.

Main Duties

• Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.
• Compaction testing of subgrade soils, aggregates and asphalt.
• Subgrade and foundation inspections.
• Various office and field tasks related to materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering.
• Other duties as required.

Position

• Fall Co-op positions (September–December, 4-month term)
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle.

Pay Range

$20.50 - $23.50 CAD hourly
