We are hiring a skilled and self-driven Field Technician to support the commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of wireless infrastructure within the Rogers Wireless Network in the GTA West region. The role involves hands-on field work across technologies including 5G, LTE, UMTS, GSM, microwave, fibre, and DAS systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Operations & Troubleshooting

• Respond to network incidents and perform efficient fault diagnostics and restoration.
• Collaborate with NOC, Engineering, and Field Ops for service continuity.
• Conduct acceptance testing, root cause analysis, and contribute to incident resolution.

Maintenance & Optimization

• Perform preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with performance standards.
• Support network builds and upgrades, conduct drive tests, and analyze dropped calls or RSSI issues.
• Troubleshoot in-building uplink interference and safety hazards.
• Execute installation and commissioning of wireless and transport systems.
• Validate performance of fibre, microwave, and other transmission systems.
• Complete site acceptance checklists for new builds.

Inventory & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records: site logs, inventory, incident tickets, and expenses.
• Manage tools and parts for field/lab readiness.

Field Support & Availability

• Participate in on-call rotations, including shift/overtime work.
• Access remote sites and deploy mobile power as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma/Certificate in Electronics or equivalent telecom experience.
• Experience in RF, microwave (DS1/DS3), SONET, fibre optics, TCP/IP.
• Strong field troubleshooting, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and clean driving record.
