Field Technician (Contract)
Indoor Environmental Quality
GTA, ON

Get out in the field and build real, hands‑on experience in Indoor Environmental Quality. We’re looking for a driven Field Technician to join our team on a 12‑month contract, supporting site investigations, assessments, and reporting across a variety of projects.

Role Overview

In this role, you will play an important part in helping clients create safer and healthier spaces across the GTA. As a Project Technologist within the IEQ group, you will support a range of environmental investigations, including indoor air quality, mould, water damage, Legionella, and fire and smoke damage assessments. This is not your typical desk‑based role — much of your time will be spent in the field, working directly on site with clients and contractors, and performing a variety of assessments in different building environments on a daily basis.

Your work will involve assessing conditions in the field, collecting accurate data, and translating your findings into clear, practical recommendations that help clients make informed decisions. Working closely with Project Managers, colleagues, and clients, you will contribute to projects that protect occupants, improve building performance, and support the long‑term resilience of buildings and communities. This is a hands‑on position in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment, offering ongoing opportunities to learn and build your technical expertise.

Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments related to mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), Legionella, infection control and designated substances.
  • Engage with clients to gather building history and understand site specific concerns.
  • Perform on‑site inspections and evaluate building systems for potential issues.
  • Assess damage resulting from floods, water losses, smoke, and fire events.
  • Support clients during loss and emergency situations by coordinating appropriate drying, cleaning, and remediation steps.
  • Collect a wide range of air and bulk samples, including mould, asbestos, lead, dust, and bacteria.
  • Review and interpret laboratory findings to identify potential risks or concerns.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports outlining observations, results, and recommended actions.
  • Oversee and document the work of abatement and restoration contractors to ensure proper completion of mould, asbestos, and other hazardous material remediation activities.
What You’ll Bring To Pinchin
  • Experience completing assessments for mould, indoor air quality (IEQ), industrial hygiene, designated substances, and other hazardous materials.
  • Ability to conduct interviews with clients regarding building history and site‑specific concerns.
  • Knowledge of assessing building damage related to floods, water losses, smoke, and fire.
  • Hands‑on experience collecting mould, bacteria, asbestos air, and hazardous materials samples.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills, with the ability to detail findings and recommendations clearly.
  • A client‑focused mindset with the ability to support existing client relationships and contribute to business development.
  • Commitment to quality control and maintaining high standards within the team.
Additional Information
  • Some positions may involve online testing during the recruitment process.
  • Depending on the assignment, clients may require Government security screening, criminal record verification, or periodic drug and alcohol testing.
  • No agency phone calls please.
  • We thank all applicants for their interest. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
