Role Overview

In this position, you will play an important role in helping clients create safer and healthier spaces. Your work will support projects that protect workers, improve building performance, and strengthen the health and resilience of communities. You will assess conditions in the field, gather accurate data, and translate your findings into clear recommendations that help clients make informed decisions. You will collaborate closely with colleagues and clients to understand their goals and deliver solutions that reflect quality, integrity, and care. This is meaningful work with real impact, and you will grow your skills while contributing to projects that make buildings and environments better.

Your Role and Action
  • Conduct site investigations involving asbestos, mould, mercury, PCBs, lead, and other hazardous materials.
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze building material and PCM asbestos air samples in relation to legislative requirements and industry guidelines.
  • Perform field work, including site visits, supervision of remediation activities, and inspections of abatement contractors to verify proper completion of work.
  • Coordinate and supervise sub‑contractors on project activities.
  • Prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations to address hazardous building material concerns.
  • Manage project time effectively and support quality control within the group.
  • Liaise with clients and sub‑contractors to ensure health, safety, and hygiene requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships through responsive communication and service.
  • Support project teams with accurate field documentation, technical insight, and day‑to‑day coordination.
What You’ll Bring To Pinchin
  • College diploma in Environmental, Construction, Architectural Technology, or a Bachelor of Science, Applied Science, or Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with building systems, including structure, envelope, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Self‑directed, mature, and able to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Availability to travel to client sites for short‑term work‑related assignments.
  • Flexibility to work outside core business hours and on occasion weekends, as required.

  • Some positions may involve online testing during the recruitment process.
  • Depending on the assignment, clients may require Government security screening, criminal record verification, or periodic drug and alcohol testing. Preference may be given to candidates who are able to efficiently qualify for Government security clearances. (Verification of background information over the previous five years including Canadian residency.)
