Job summary

Sureway Construction Group is seeking a Survey/Field Technologist to conduct topographical and construction surveys, providing accurate survey data for quantities, engineering, mapmaking, land evaluation, construction and other purposes.

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will assist with construction survey layouts for subdivisions, pits, mining and roadways, prepare as-builts, and help calculate earthwork quantities with Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Civil Engineering program at a post-secondary institute.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to discipline.
• Must have a good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Trimble tsc3/tsc7.
• Effective and professional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as, being an independent self-starter.
• Must display and promote a continuous regard to safety.

Responsibilities

• Check the grade of roadways and construction sites using manual and laser methods.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program and encourage safety culture among employees and subcontractors.
