ABB is seeking a Field Service Technician in Canada to deliver high-quality services for electrical power distribution infrastructure. You will perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations on high-, medium-, and low-voltage systems, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You will manage service projects from start to finish, communicate with customers, and identify opportunities to grow ABB’s service footprint while ensuring reliable power system operation.

Formación

• Requires college diploma or university degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience maintaining high-, medium-, and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities; ability to read and interpret schematics.

The primary objective is to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of complex service projects involving high-, medium-, and low-voltage electrical systems. This role combines technical expertise, customer engagement, and business acumen to support ABB's mission of ensuring reliable power system operation and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:System Testing and CommissioningPerform comprehensive testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and installations on a variety of electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and control systems.Project ManagementPlan and execute service projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while optimizing operational efficiency and profitability.Diagnostics and OptimizationApply advanced expertise in electrical system diagnostics and protective relaying to identify and resolve complex technical issues, improving customer system performance and reliability.Customer EngagementProactively interact with customers to understand their operational needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and build long-term relationships.Opportunity IdentificationSupport business growth by identifying new service opportunities aligned with customer requirements and company strategy.Qualifications:College diploma or university degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance of high-, medium-, and low-voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and control systems.Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities, with proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and technical procedures.Thorough understanding of electrical safety practices, industry standards, and environmental regulations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.Willingness to travel locally and nationally (approximately 20%) and work overtime or respond to service calls outside regular business hours as required.Knowledge of ABB Electrification products and services, or equivalent products and solutions from comparable manufacturers.Employment Equity & Inclusion Statement (Canada)ABB values the dedication, commitment, and expertise of all our employees.
