Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools in previous roles.
  • Past working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, or motor repair is beneficial.
  • Ability to conduct basic calculations and interpret measurements related to airflow, pressure, and filtration systems.
  • Understanding of technical documentation, including manufacturer guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, and industry standards (NSF/ANSI, ISO, NEBB) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Service delivery: testing and certifying biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, clean benches, and cleanroom environments per industry standards; perform diagnostics and minor repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, Regional Managers, and internal teams to ensure quality work and client satisfaction; communicate findings and provide guidance on equipment use.
  • Drive to expand skills through hands-on training and ongoing certifications.
  • Commit to safety by maintaining a safe work environment, conducting hazard assessments, and documenting incidents; travel to client sites regionally.

Our experienced technicians test and certify cleanrooms, biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, HEPA filtration, and other critical ventilation equipment for universities, hospitals, laboratories, compounding pharmacies, and pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

We are searching for someone to join our team in Vancouver, BC as our next Field Service Technician (Controlled Environments). In this role, you will play a criticalpartin keeping laboratories, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, and research environments safe and compliantthroughtesting and certifying critical equipment. In this role, you will develop skills inadvanced diagnostics and direct client engagementthrough structured,fieldbasedtraining.

Compensation for this role is between $24.00 and $27.00 paid per hour based on experience.

The day-to-day activities of our Field Service Technician will include:

  • Service Delivery- Testing and certifying biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, clean benches, and cleanroom environmentsin accordance with industry and regulatory standards.Perform diagnostics and minor repairs; escape complex issues when needed.
  • Collaboration and communication - Collaborate with supervisors, Regional Managers, and internal teams to ensure quality work and satisfied customers. Provide excellent customer service when communicating findings to clients, explaining results, and offering guidance on equipment use and maintenance.
  • Drive to expand skills and knowledge - Commitment to continuous learning through hands-on training, technical development, and ongoing expansion of skills and certifications.
  • Commitment to Safety - Demonstratea strong commitment to safety by maintaining a safe work environment for all team members, conducting hazard assessments, and documenting any incidents or near misses.Travel to client sites across the region using safe driving practices.
