Job description

As a Field Service Technician, your primary focus will be on-site responsibilities and support for Ovivo membrane-based water and wastewater treatment systems and equipment.

The role is a remote position but must be in Toronto area and will require local travel.

What is the role?

  • System and equipment commissioning and startup, servicing, and Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Performing installation and maintenance activities on membrane system-related equipment.
  • Performing mechanical and equipment-specific maintenance, modification, and calibration as required on all treatment-based equipment and instrumentation, including online analytical systems.
  • Carrying out mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as pumps, blowers, instrumentation, and automation hardware, as well as on process parameters and performance.
  • Providing training to operations staff and facilitating smooth system turnover to end-users.
  • Interpreting detailed operational data and providing guidance and direction in the operation and troubleshooting of water systems as necessary.
  • Performing basic electrical and programming tasks including but not limited to navigating control panels and troubleshooting and updating PLCs and HMIs.
  • Acting as single point of contact for clients, contractors, and Project Management while on site.
  • Working with Project Management to ensure all applicable project-related field, QA/QC, and contractual documentation is completed to facilitate project closure.
  • Managing site deficiency list, coordinating with project team as required to ensure all items are addressed and finalized prior to leaving site.
  • Participating in the development and reviewing of Standard Operating Procedures and Job Hazard Analysis as required for on-site tasks.
  • Providing feedback from the field into product development and system design teams for R&D purposes and system improvement.

Does this sound like you?

  • Technical school or minimum five years experience with heavy machinery and structural steel installation
  • Familiar with installation and adjustment of equipment utilized in wastewater treatment plants such as clarifiers, cross collectors, rail systems or similar.
  • Basic knowledge of gear reducers, motors and controls is also required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to climb on or around equipment, bend, reach, and lift (up to 50 lbs) at times.
