Job summary

BGE Clean Air in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Field Service Technician (Controlled Environments) to test and certify biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, and cleanrooms. You will gain skills in advanced diagnostics and engage with clients on-site through structured field-based training.

The role requires travel within the region, a mechanical aptitude with hand tools, and knowledge of HVAC systems or electrical/mechanical hardware. Safety and customer service are core to the position.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools.
• Prior working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, or motor repair is beneficial.
• Ability to conduct basic calculations and interpret measurements related to airflow, pressure, and filtration systems.
• Understanding of technical documentation including manufacturer guidelines, SOPs, and standards (NSF/ANSI, ISO, NEBB, etc.) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Service Delivery - Testing and certifying biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, clean benches, and cleanroom environments; perform diagnostics and minor repairs.
• Collaboration and communication - Work with supervisors, Regional Managers, and internal teams to ensure quality work and customer satisfaction; explain results to clients and guidance on maintenance.
• Drive to expand skills and knowledge - Ongoing hands-on training and certifications to enhance expertise.
• Commitment to Safety - Maintain safe work environment; conduct hazard assessments; travel to client sites across the region.
