Field Project Coordinator
Kamloops, British Columbia Seasonal $60000.00-$70000.00/year
Dawson Construction is looking for a Project Coordinator who has a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
As a Project Coordinator at Dawson Construction, you will play a key role in supporting project operations and ensuring smooth execution from start to finish. This is a seasonal, full-time position, where you will report directly to the Project Manager & Estimator and collaborate with project teams to help deliver high-quality construction projects. Your base location will be Kamloops, British Columbia and will require travel throughout our province.

What Success Looks Like
- Establish project files, cost codes, and maintain all safety and construction documentation to support field operations.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with safety standards, utility locates, PPE, and enforce subcontractor checklists.
- Lead company safety initiatives, conduct inspections, and ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
- Plan, organize, and manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Prepare budgets, develop schedules, and negotiate contracts, including change orders and revisions.
- Ensure work meets design specifications and implement quality assurance measures throughout project execution.
- Represent the company at meetings, issue progress reports, and serve as the field-level point of contact.
- Collect and update project costing, assist with estimates, and manage budgets including change tracking.
- Promote and uphold the company’s safety culture, performing duties with a high level of responsibility and awareness.
What You Bring
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Solid understanding of construction equipment, materials, and field operations.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Familiar with, or able to quickly learn, construction estimating software such as Heavy Job and Heavy Bid.
- Strong leadership, planning, delegation, and team management abilities.
- Committed to upholding and enforcing company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to make sound, independent decisions.
- Capable of implementing and monitoring effective cost control measures.
