Duties
  • Participate in planning, organizing and supervising census field operations for a designated area.
  • Train and supervise a team of supervisors and coordinate their activities and those of their employees.
  • Monitor, analyze and evaluate field operations by reviewing activity reports.
  • Authorize weekly payment, expenses and allowances for employees.
  • Monitor performance and productivity of staff and resolve collection, staff and pay issues.
  • Promote respondent participation and implement regional communication strategies.
  • Respond to public inquiries.
  • Collaborate with census employees (FOS, AMP, RC, MA) to resolve collection, processing and pay issues.
  • Work closely with Recruitment Clerk and Field Operations Manager to meet targets.
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
  • Essential Experience:
    • Managing workload, delegating tasks and meeting deadlines.
    • Using computer functions (email, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, virtual meeting invites).
    • Experience in a large-scale project with competing deadlines or supervising a team (assigning work and managing performance).
  • Essential Competencies:
    • Showing initiative and being action oriented (C4).
    • Effective written communication (C6A).
  • Asset Experience (optional) (explain how you meet these):
    • Delivering training (AEXP1).
    • Conducting recruitment activities (AEXP2).
    • Working on a previous census of population (AEXP3).
    • Working with Indigenous peoples or in Indigenous communities (AEXP4).
    • Supervising a data collection operation (AEXP5).
