Job summary

Homes First Society is seeking an IT Assistant on a full-time contract to provide technology support across shelters and housing locations. You will administer email accounts, configure hardware/software, maintain inventory, and document security procedures while traveling to various sites as needed.

The role requires independent work and strong communication. Responsibilities include supporting networked devices, updating tickets, and educating staff on tools.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in information technology or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, hardware and software support.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Administer email and various system accounts.
• Maintain inventory and care for tools and equipment.
• Hardware/ software configuration, installation and support.
• Document system security tests, strategies and procedures.
• Keep procedures up to date and maintain documentation.
• Provide technical support to users and troubleshoot issues.
• Drive to multiple sites for installations and troubleshooting.
• Support equipment: routers, switches, DVR/NVRs, phones, printers, VoIP, and more.
• Update work orders, track stock, and maintain accurate site records.
• Interact positively with staff and residents, upholding policies.
