PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medications in patients' homes, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
- Assess and monitor pre- and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation according to policies, procedures, and standards of practice set by the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation.
- Provide patient and caregiver education based on product monographs and program protocols, individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
- Ensure reliable availability based on employment agreements to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and Clinics KPIs.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments to meet timelines for scheduling appointments and treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers to set up appointments and drug delivery to home and clinic.
- Participate regularly in team web-based meetings and training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional standards.
- Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations and Innomar.
- Work collaboratively within the healthcare team, providing oversight and delegation of applicable tasks to RPN/LPN as authorized by provincial nursing regulations.
- Travel within designated IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Follow all health and safety standards as per provincial regulations.
- Complete ongoing and annual education and training within specified timeframes.
- Perform other duties as required by Innomar.
- May be required to be on standby or on call to meet service needs.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
- One year of IV initiation experience is required.
- Current registration with a licensing body and CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare settings.
- Additional certifications like ACLS, PALS, MS, CVAA, and experience with central venous lines/ports are assets.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and other computer applications.
- Access to reliable internet connection.
- Knowledge of mobile phones for scheduling and communication, and familiarity with fax machines.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel within the geographical area.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.
- Business and financial acumen is an asset.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Self-directed with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and insurance coverage.
The successful candidate may have daily contacts with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
