Job Details
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medications in the patient's home, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
- Assess and monitor pre- and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation based on policies, procedures, and standards set by the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation.
- Provide patient and caregiver education based on product monographs and program protocols, individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
- Ensure reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the KPIs of Nursing and clinics.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments, to meet treatment and appointment timelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers to schedule appointments and coordinate drug delivery to homes and clinics.
- Participate regularly in team web-based meetings and training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain professional standards.
- Engage in specialized client-related training as required.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations and Innomar.
- Work collaboratively within the healthcare team, providing oversight and delegation of applicable tasks to RPN/LPN as authorized by provincial nursing colleges.
- Travel within your designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Comply with all health and safety standards as per provincial health and safety regulations.
- Complete ongoing and annual educational training within the required timeframes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Innomar.
- Be available on standby or on call as needed to meet service requirements.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
- At least 1 year of IV initiation experience.
- Current registration with a licensing body and CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare settings.
- ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA certifications, and experience with central venous lines/ports are assets.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, MS Word, and other relevant computer programs.
- Access to internet and cell phone for communication and appointment management.
- Excellent customer service, communication skills, and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel within designated areas.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.
- Business and financial acumen is an asset.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, resolve issues effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage.
The successful candidate may have daily contact with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
