Job summary

Ledcor is seeking an HS&E Advisor to lead the execution and enhancement of health and safety programs for telecommunications projects. You will develop Job Hazard Analyses and Safe Work Practices, and support operations to meet Ledcor Leading Indicator requirements.

You will partner with field teams to implement procedures, train staff, and drive continuous HS&E improvement across sites in Western Canada. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience in construction or telecommunications safety role.
• Has developed technical knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipment.
• Certificate or diploma in occupational health and safety; CRSP/CSO/NCSO assets are a plus.
• Ability to communicate with hourly workforce and management, and with clients and customers.
• Proactive safety approach: identify issues and develop/implement solutions.
• Experience with risk assessment, program development, safety training, and incident investigation.
• Strong computer skills: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Ability to adapt information for diverse audiences and influence toward consensus.
• Team player with flexibility to changing priorities.
• Hold a valid provincial driver’s license and driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of work areas and discuss issues with field supervisors.
• Provide HS&E services and site safety orientation for new employees.
• Collaborate with HS&E team to develop and implement procedures and standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subs, and suppliers.
• Verify HS&E plans and hazard assessments stay current with scope changes.
• Assist in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor and report on effectiveness of HS&E plan implementation.
• Audit field hazard assessments and incident reports for accuracy.
• Prepare site-specific material for safety meetings and toolbox talks.
