Job summary

Ledcor Construction, Inc. is seeking an HS&E Advisor to implement health and safety programs across Telecommunication projects. You will develop Job Hazard Analyses and Safe Work Practices, support operations, and drive Ledcor’s Leading Indicator requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience in construction or telecommunications safety.
• CRSP/CSO/NCSO designation is considered an asset.
• Technical knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipment.
• Ability to communicate and present information to the hourly workforce and to management.
• Proactive safety approach, identifying issues and developing strategies to solve them.
• Experience in risk assessment, program development, safety training, and incident investigation.
• Strong MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
• Ability to adapt information for different audiences and influence others.
• Team player with the ability to adjust to changing priorities.
• Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license and driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of the work area and meet with field supervisors to discuss potential problems and ensure safety equipment supply.
• Provide field supervisors and employees with HS&E guidance and conduct site safety orientation and training.
• Collaborate to develop, revise and implement HS&E procedures, standards, rules, and regulations; mentor field supervisors.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Verify HS&E plans and hazard assessments are current and updated with scope changes and assist in look-ahead planning.
• Assist in incident investigations and support corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and report on overall HS&E plan implementation effectiveness.
• Audit field hazard assessments and incident reports for accuracy.
• Support site leadership in preparing safety meeting materials and toolbox talks.
