Job summary

Plains All American is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support Sherwood Park and area facilities. This field-based role involves installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems in tank farms, pump stations, and offices.

Candidates should be prepared for outdoor work in extreme conditions and be capable of following safety protocols. Required: high school diploma and dual E&I tickets preferred, plus 5+ years of relevant

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dual tickets in Electrical and Instrumentation technology preferred.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of electrical code requirements for pipeline operations.
• Experience with medium/high voltage systems and switchgear preferred.
• Training in protective devices for pipelines.
• Basic computer skills: Excel, Microsoft Office, Word.
• Strong safety record.

Responsibilities

• Perform E&I Technician responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Work independently; set own priorities.
• Maintain calibration equipment and resolve abnormal conditions.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on control devices (flow, temperature, pressure, level).
• Maintain safety and process monitoring systems and resolve abnormalities.
• Maintain DC and AC generator maintenance referencing manuals.
• Instrumentation maintenance on pumps and transmitters and controls.
• Maintenance on all valve types and actuators.
• Complete facility safety checks and report abnormalities.
• Communicate problems and recommendations to management.
• Ensure safety, regulatory, and operation integrity policies.
• Perform routine operations and maintenance.
• Participate in non-regular maintenance.
• Respond to emergency situations and repairs.
• Assist in PM program documentation.
• Participate in construction projects and turnarounds.
• Interact with contractors.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency equipment failures.
• Respond to emergency events and spill response.
