Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a Crane Operator to join our Venier yard team in a hands-on role requiring outdoor work. You will operate the crane and other heavy equipment, participate in the full flow of materials, and perform sorting and sorting-related tasks in a dynamic environment.

The position is suitable for physically capable candidates who thrive in team settings and can adapt to changing priorities, with a safety-first mindset and relevant heavy equipment experience.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment (crane, loader, or equivalent).
• Comfortable in a physical outdoor environment.
• Strong ability to work as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Operate the crane and participate in general yard activities.
• Sort and identify metals and assess non-sellable materials.
• Receive, unload, and route metals to appropriate areas.
• Verify the quality of materials received and handled.
• Transport and organize non-ferrous material bins on site.
• Use various equipment (crane, loader, forklift as needed).
• Load ferrous products destined for customers.
• Perform manual tasks related to daily operations (sorting, handling, organizing materials).
