Job summary

RFNOW Inc. seeks a Quality Control Inspector to review FTTH construction projects, verify installations, splice cases, cabinets, and underground works against design plans.

This field-based role requires practical surveying and documentation of work, with readiness to travel across Southern Manitoba and Saskatchewan. This position involves operating test equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and providing clear field reports while collaborating with Project Managers.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in the construction, maintenance, and repair of outside plant (OSP) for fibre optics.
• Ability to read and interpret general layouts from blueprints and system maps.
• Field-based in varying environmental conditions with travel across large geographic areas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspections for quality control per company standards.
• Verify property restoration aligns with standard practices.
• Operate test equipment to confirm optical/RF power levels meet design specifications.
• Document progress with photos/videos showing vaults and cabinets installed as planned.
• Prepare work orders to resolve non-conforming elements.
• Communicate concerns to Project Manager or Supervisor.
• Possess weekend availability as business needs dictate.
• Perform emergency locates as required.
• Adhere to local, provincial, and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as required.
