About the role

We’re looking for a Field Appraiser to join our growing team!

This Full-Time / Permanent opportunity can be based out of the following location:

• Edmonton

What you'll do here:

1. Determine the causes and origin of damage that occurred during an accident by examining the vehicle using a software application. Claims handled will vary in complexity depending on experience.
2. Review field claims and internal office image desk files as needed.
3. Assess and approve repair estimates for claims adjusters, comparing estimates to vehicle examinations.
4. Establish the market value of vehicles based on information provided by claims adjusters, using tools outlined in the appraisers' standards manual.
5. Use digital automated evaluation systems to standardize repair estimates and avoid errors.
6. Negotiate and communicate repair practices or procedures.
7. Ensure productivity and service quality, relating performance to department objectives.

What you bring to the table:

1. College Diploma or equivalent trade license or combination of education and experience.
2. Collision estimating or repair experience, including knowledge of estimating software (Qapter and Mitchell).
3. Minimum 3 years estimating heavy trucks, including makes like Peterbilt, Kenworth, and Recreational Vehicles is an asset.
4. Willingness to travel on short notice, including overnights.
5. Knowledge of automobile physical damage repairs and replacement principles.
6. Commitment to continuing education.
7. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
8. Minimum 5 years experience in the collision repair industry.
9. Strong analytical skills.
10. Ability to prepare auto repair estimates using Qapter / Mitchell.
11. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
12. Customer-driven attitude.
13. Experience with Excel and Word is an asset.
