Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Field Truck and Coach Technician to join the Peterbilt Team in Timmins, reporting to the North Bay Branch. The role covers repair and maintenance of on-road equipment in a field environment.

You will diagnose, disassemble/assemble, order parts, and repair equipment, while documenting all actions on work orders. Strong diagnostic skills, customer service focus, and ability to work safely are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach trade or equivalent designation.
• Experience with CAT, CUMMINs and PACCAR engines is an asset.
• Electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems experience is a plus.
• Previous mechanical shop experience is an asset.
• Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
• Ability to communicate with engineers, service team and branch personnel.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proven diagnostics skills and capability to perform calibration work.
• Strong time-management and teamwork abilities.
• Good communication and collaboration with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair field equipment.
• Use tools and computer systems to document work orders.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure work meets standards.
• Document maintenance, inspection and diagnosis in systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty needs.
• Locate and order parts from parts personnel.
• Road test equipment and verify attachment operation.

We are currently seeking a Field Truck and Coach Technician join our Peterbilt Team in Timmins - reporting to the North Bay Branch. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Truck & Coach based equipment and attachments in a field environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair on road equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Work with equipment engineers to diagnose and fulfill warranty requirements
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
• Other duties as assigned

What We Look For

• Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent designated trade considered an asset
• Experience in CAT, CUMMINs and PACCAR engines considered an asset
• Experience with electrical diagnosis /troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
• Previous mechanical experience in a shop environment is considered an asset.
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
• Outstanding knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems
• Proven computer/ technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
• Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs
• Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure
• Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
