Dimensions is hiring two female Support Workers to join our waking night team in Newmarket. You will work 22 hours per week on 11-hour nights from 8:30pm to 7:30am, including alternate weekends.

The role includes night-time personal care, medication administration, and helping with household tasks while ensuring a safe, comfortable home. We value emotional resilience and experience with anxiety or distress.

• Experience supporting people with anxiety or distress would be beneficial.
• Waking night experience would be advantageous.

About the role

Support Worker

We’re looking for two female Support Workers to join our dedicated waking night team, working 22 hours per week (2 waking nights). Shifts are from 8:30pm to 7:30am, including alternate weekends.

• £14.11 per hour
• Work independently throughout the night to ensure the individual feels safe, comfortable, and well supported.
• Provide personal care, administer medication, and support with household tasks such as maintaining a clean and comfortable home.
• Promote her well‑being throughout the night by supporting her to settle, monitoring wellbeing, changing bedding when required and helping her maintain her usual routines.
• Respond calmly to changing situations, following support plans and making decisions while working lone‑working.

This is a rewarding role for someone who brings emotional resilience, maturity, and a deep understanding of co‑occurring anxiety and communication differences. Getting to know her communication style and understanding what matters to her will be an important part of providing great support. At times, she may experience periods of increased anxiety and distress. During these times, she benefits from calm, consistent, and structured support from a team that can recognise changes in her wellbeing and respond with patience, empathy, and reassurance.

You will initially work alongside the day team to complete your induction, mandatory training, and to get to know the person we support, their routines, preferences and support needs. This provides a strong foundation and helps ensure you feel confident and well‑prepared before transitioning to night support.

Shifts – 22 contracted hours per week, working 2 wake nights per week (11‑hour shifts) from 8:30pm to 7:30am. This role requires flexibility to work across the rota as fixed nights cannot be accommodated, includes alternate weekend working, and involves lone working during night shifts.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, observant, and able to work confidently on their own. Previous experience in a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or similar care role is essential, and experience supporting people with anxiety, complex needs or behaviours of distress would be highly beneficial. Previous waking night experience would also be advantageous.
