Job summary

Powell River Educational Services Society is seeking a part-time/casual farm hand to help finish the growing season and prepare for fall and winter. The role requires comfort with physical outdoor work and a hands-on approach.

Start date is as soon as possible with an open/flexible schedule. Duties include weed whacking, garden cleanup, bed resetting, and in October garlic planting, with possible ongoing winter work on farm maintenance and building projects.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be comfortable with physical outdoor work and have some farm or hands-on outdoor experience.
• Experience with garden work, landscaping, weed whacking, or similar tasks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Weed whacking and weeding
• General garden and bed cleanup
• Resetting beds and preparing for fall crops
• Garlic planting in October and potential ongoing winter farm maintenance and building projects.

• We’re looking for someone who is comfortable with physical outdoor work and ideally has some experience with farm work, gardening, landscaping, weed whacking, or similar hands-on work.

List of Duties

Current work will include:

• Weed whacking and weeding
• General garden and bed cleanup
• Resetting beds and preparing for fall crops
• In October, there will also be an opportunity to help with our garlic planting, with the possibility of some ongoing work through the winter on farm maintenance and building projects.
