Job summary

Linden Lane Farms in British Columbia is seeking 4 Vegetable Farm Workers for the upcoming season. This outdoor role covers production, harvesting, and packing tasks with a focus on horticulture and safety.

Hours are seasonal (April to December) with 40–60 hours per week. On-site housing may be available, and compensation starts at a competitive hourly wage aligned with experience.

Qualifications

  • Physically fit and able to perform long hours of repetitive outdoor work.
  • Experience with production vegetables is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with organic vegetables is preferred but not required.
  • Able to take direction, learn quickly and accept feedback constructively.
  • Able to work well in a group or independently and show initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Production work: seeding, transplanting, weeding and crop care (irrigation, pruning, trellising, etc.).
  • Harvest and pack shed tasks: harvesting, rinsing, bunching, packaging and cleaning tools.
  • Follow farm protocols: food safety, farm safety, organic certification, animal welfare standards.
  • Communicate daily with manager and supervisors about work needs.
  • Attend farmer’s markets when needed.
  • Other farm duties as required.

Job description

We are looking for 4 Vegetable Farm Workers to join our operation this coming season! This is a rewarding outdoor job to learn about production agriculture, focusing on horticulture. Farm Workers are the heart of the operation and gain experience in all production methods.

Job Duties

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Production Work: Seeding, transplanting, weeding and crop care (irrigation, pruning, trellising, etc.) using tools, small equipment and by hand
  • Harvest & Pack Shed Work: Harvesting efficiently, safely and consistently, rinsing, bunching and packaging products, cleaning and sanitizing harvest containers and tools
  • Adhering to farm protocols and policies, which include food safety, farm safety, organic certification, and animal welfare standards
  • Communicating with manager and supervisors daily regarding work needs
  • Attending farmer’s markets when needed
  • Other farm duties as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior production vegetable experience is preferred but not required.
  • Prior organic vegetable experience is preferred but not required.
  • Physically fit; able to bend for long periods of time, lift items up to 22kg (50lbs)
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude throughout long days of physical, repetitive work in all weather conditions
  • Able to take direction, learn quickly, ask for help and clarity as needed, and accept and act on constructive feedback
  • Ability to work well in both a group setting and independently
  • Takes initiative and pays attention to detail and quality
  • Able to work in all weather conditions (rain, sun, or snow)
  • Flexible; able to adapt to shifting priorities and conditions and help out where needed, including extended hours and weekend/holiday work
  • Basic English language preferred, or the ability to use a translation app for communication

Reports to: Farm Manager, Greenhouse Manager, and Post-harvest Supervisor (task/season dependent)
Status: Hourly, overtime-exempt
Schedule: Seasonal, April to December; approximately 40-60 hours/week
Start date: Early-April to mid-May
Location: Krestova, BC (main), Shoreacres, BC (secondary)
Compensation:$17.85/hour, in line with experience and qualifications
