Fraser Valley Child Development Centre in Abbotsford, BC, is seeking a Family Support Worker to join a multidisciplinary team. The role includes family interviews, intake visits, information gathering, and addressing barriers to services across programs for children and families.
The position is 0.8 FTE (30 hours/week), temporary maternity leave coverage for 18 months, based in Abbotsford with regular travel between FVCDC sites.

The Family Support Worker will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting children, youth and families across a range of programs and age groups, including early intervention, school-aged OT/PT support, and CYSN Family Support services. This role provides comprehensive family support services, including participating in family interviews, conducting intake visits, gathering relevant information, assessing family needs, and helping address challenges that may affect access to services and supports. The Family Support Worker will advocate for families and assist them in navigating and accessing appropriate community resources and services. The role also includes providing educational opportunities for staff, families, and community partners, as well as developing and maintaining strong relationships with community organizations, service systems, and diverse cultural and community groups.

This position requires regular travel between FVCDC locations and throughout the communities we serve, including visits to family homes, childcare settings, schools, community locations, and other service sites. The position is based in Abbotsford.
A valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle for work-related travel are required. Work-related travel time and mileage are reimbursed in accordance with FVCDC policies and the applicable collective agreement.
