Job summary

Interior Community Services in Kamloops, BC is seeking a full-time Supervised and Supportive Visitation Family Support Worker. The role requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, a vehicle for work, and union membership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in human/social services or related field (preferred).
• 2 years of experience in parenting, grief and loss, attachment, and child development or combination of education/training/experience.
• Credential training: CPR-C, Mandt-R.C, SafeTALK, Safe Food Handling, MCFD Privacy, Car Seat Safety and Installation, Abuse and Neglect training, Anti-Bullying and Harassment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of children during visits with their parents/family members.
• Co-create goals and strategies with families and stakeholders; participate in ICMs as needed.
• Educate and coach parents on attachment, parenting, and child development.
• Coach families through grief and loss of relationships during separation.
• Document attendance and progress, report serious incidents within 24 hours.
