General Practitioner in Oncology, Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant
Regular Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
The GPO will support senior hematologists in caring for leukemia and bone marrow transplant patients by providing ongoing care. The candidate will collaborate with leukemia/bone marrow transplant fellows-in-training, clinical associates, and internists involved in the program. Experience in this specialty is desirable but not mandatory.
The Leukemia/BMT Program is an academic, innovative program for managing aggressive hematological malignancies and stem cell transplants (including immune effector cell therapy) at Vancouver General Hospital, Vancouver, BC. It serves British Columbia and Yukon, transplants approximately 300 patients annually, and is the only provincial referral center for adult acute leukemia patients. The program is a joint operation between BC Cancer and Vancouver Coastal Health.
Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a family practitioner in British Columbia, hold Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS, or CCFP) at the time of appointment, and be suitable for appointment at the University of British Columbia.
