Northern Health is seeking a Family Physician to practice full-scope family medicine in a well established clinic and provide Emergency Room coverage in Fort Nelson, BC.

The Fort Nelson General Hospital is a 22-bed facility serving a community of 3,400 with various incentives and relocation options. LOCUM opportunities are also available to suit mobility and scheduling needs.

Role and Facility Information

Northern Health is seeking a Family Physician with full scope skills/experience to join a well established family medicine clinic and also provide Emergency Room coverage in Fort Nelson BC, a community of 3,400. Fort Nelson General Hospital is a 22 bed integrated Acute Care and multi-level care facility.

Housing assistance may be available from the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality.

Fort Nelson is located at Historical Mile 300 of the world-famous Alaska Highway, and is the largest community in the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality. The community has excellent year-round recreational facilities, indoor and outdoor.

Compensation

Compensation Type Fee-for-Service Estimated Remuneration $350,000+ Physician Overhead Negotiable

Benefits and Incentives

• Vacation Leave Regular / negotiable
• May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA)
• Retention Premium 30.0%
• Retention Flat Fee $52,342
• Relocation Funding Available $9,000 - $15,000 (TBD)
• Recruitment Incentive $20,000
• Other Benefits/Incentives REEF (Rural Emergency Enhancement Funding) and MOCAP (Medical On Call Availability Program) available on top of MSP billings.
• Rural Education Action Plan (REAP) available.
• Rural Continuing Medical Education (RCME) available.
• Moving assistance available: $15,000 if moving from outside of Canada; $12,000 if moving within Canada but outside of British Columbia; $9,000 if moving within British Columbia.
