Job summary

Neepawa Health Centre is seeking a Family Physician to join Prairie Mountain Health in Neepawa, Manitoba. The physician will provide comprehensive family practice services, diagnose and treat illnesses, and coordinate ongoing patient care in a rural setting.

Work is on-site at Neepawa Health Centre, with shared Emergency Department on-call duties, in a full-time role requiring flexibility across day/evening/night shifts.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree.
• Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
• Must be a member of CMPA or provide proof of equivalent malpractice insurance.
• Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
• Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
• Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
• Good work and attendance record.

Neepawa Health Centre is a 38 bed acute care and 100 bed long term care facility. Services offered include General Surgery, Diagnostic, Emergency, Public Health, Mental Health, Home Care, and Chemotherapy. Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a Family Physician to join the Neepawa Health Centre. Duties to include: performing all duties associated with a family practice, including diagnosing and treating diseases, physiological disorders and injuries of patients, act as the primary care provider and provide continuous care toward the management of patients’ health. The physician will also share in the Emergency Department on call schedule and will cooperate and coordinate coverage with other physician colleagues.

• Complete and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
• All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with the Prairie Mountain Health policy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
