Russell Family Physician

Work Location: On site – Russell Health Centre (426 Alexandria Ave S, Russell, MB R0J 1W0) and Russell Personal Care Home (113 Arsini St E, Russell, MB R0J 1W0). There is no option to work remotely.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.

Anticipated Shift: Full Time, Days, Early Mornings, Mornings, Evenings, Nights, On Call, Weekends.

Daily Hours Worked: 30‑40 hours per week on various hour shifts.

Position Type: Fee for service.

Wage Rate: Compensation is fee‑for‑service as per the Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living negotiated rates. Benefits are not provided, but may be purchased if desired.

Position Summary: Russell Health Centre is a 32‑bed acute care and 40‑bed long‑term care facility. Services include Diagnostic, Emergency, Public Health, Mental Health, Home Care, Dialysis, and a Satellite Community Cancer Program.

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a Family Physician to join the Russell Health Centre. Duties include performing all duties of a family practice, diagnosing and treating diseases, physiological disorders, and injuries, acting as the primary care provider, and providing continuous care toward the management of patients’ health. The physician will also share in the Emergency Department on‑call schedule and coordinate coverage with other physician colleagues.

Language: English.

Education: Degree in Medicine.

Experience: Experience an asset.

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. No remote work.

Work setting: Private practice, Rural area.

Security and Safety

• Complete and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
• All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with the Prairie Mountain Health policy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
