Our Halifax office is currently seeking a Drafting Lawyer to join our Family Law practice group who loves to draft without the responsibility of file management.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supporting family law lawyers in conducting research and drafting documents to include briefs, affidavits, contracts, oral arguments, complex letters, proposals, agreements, prehearing briefs, opinions, and memorandums.
• Connect with clients to support drafting the materials on a wide range of family law related matters, including cohabitation agreements and marriage contracts, and all matters arising from breakdown of marriages and common law relationships, such as parenting, child support, spousal support, division of matrimonial assets and claims to business assets.
THE IDEAL CANIDATE
• Three + years of relevant work experience;
• Strong drafting skills in documents noted above;
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
• Strong research and writing skills and demonstrated ability to navigate complex issues;
• Proven effective client and time management and organizational skills;
• Self-motivated and can work independently but also works well in a team, and
• Brings a compassionate approach to the practice of family law.
