Job summary

ROCKWOOL is seeking a skilled Factory Buyer to join the Purchasing Team in Milton, Ontario. You will support day-to-day procurement of direct materials and production supplies to keep operations running smoothly.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will create POs, manage inventory, and maintain ERP records while building strong supplier relationships. A background in SAP/ERP and strong planning skills are required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ industrial purchasing experience.
  • Post-secondary education.
  • Computer literate (MS Office, Word, Excel, PP).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or any ERP system for material purchases and reporting.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills and knowledge of purchasing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Create POs in the ERP system and expedite back orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized ERP system and monitor inventory.
  • Vendor performance monitoring and supplier relationship support.
  • Handle invoice queries and ensure timely Goods receipt follow-up.
  • Monitor regional Material Planning KPIs and contract implementation.
  • Travel as necessary.

Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Factory Buyer to join our Purchasing Team in Milton, ON. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this role is responsible for supporting and executing the day-to-day procurement of direct materials and production-related supplies required to support efficient factory operations. The successful candidate will ensure timely purchasing activities, maintain strong supplier relationships, and contribute to the continuity of production through effective inventory and procurement management.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 CAD. Your base salary is determined based on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions.

What you will be doing:

Creating POs in the ERP system, expedite back orders, ensure full circle ordering process while maintaining a clean and organized ERP system. Inventory management of all assigned direct materials Goods receipt follow up Focal point of contact for Invoice queries Monitor regional Material Planning KPIs Support Supplier performance measurements Ensure operational implementation of contracts Identify emerging risk on supply Handling minor claims for the regional area in agreement with the Category Manager Ensure efficiency in the function and alignment with all stakeholders Perform other duties as assigned. Travel as necessary.

What you bring:
