Job summary

Oak View Group’s Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw seeks a dedicated Facility Operator to support ice installation, arena maintenance, and event setup. The role emphasizes high-quality customer service and teamwork within a dynamic venue environment.

The position requires the ability to lift and climb, flexible scheduling, and experience with arena equipment. It offers a CAD 20–22 hourly rate, full-time benefits, and a path to contribute to a premier community venue.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience cleaning a business facility preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and climb ladders/work from heights as required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team as well as under minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
• Previous experience using pallet jacks, forklifts, ice resurfacer, and/or edgers is a plus.
• Strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with arena ice installation, removal, and daily, weekly maintenance.
• Resurface hockey ice based on usage and need. The resurface schedule may change from day to day.
• Operate equipment including staging, audiovisual, lighting, small equipment tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, ice resurfacer, edgers, etc.
• Assist with event preparations including, but not limited to, stage setup and teardown, setting of tables and chairs, AV equipment, and meeting room spaces as required.
• Set up and tear down and preparation of Main Tenant games and/or events
• Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns as required.
• Demonstrate attention to detail.
• Provide exceptional customer service to our clients and fans.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Perform maintenance including but not limited to painting, drywall repairs, maintaining exterior sidewalks, snow and ice removal, parking lots and grounds, and various other tasks.
• Cleaning to meet sanitation requirements and protocols. Areas included but not limited to: bathrooms, bowl seating, common areas, dressing rooms, hockey benches, meeting rooms

Position Summary

The Facility Operator will perform a variety of tasks related to ice installation and preparations, event setup and teardown, housekeeping duties, preventative facility maintenance, emergency repairs, and day-to-day operations while maintaining a cohesive and team-approach work environment with an expectation of a high level of customer service.

This role pays an hourly rate of $20.00-$22.00 CAD

About The Venue

The Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw stands as southern Saskatchewan’s premier venue, encompassing 210,000 square feet of versatile space dedicated to community recreation and entertainment, boasting a 4500-seat arena, an 8-sheet curling rink with a two-tier lounge overlooking the ice, and meeting and conference spaces.
