Job summary

Oak View Group (OVG) is seeking a Conversion Crew member to support event setups at the Ovintiv Events Centre in the Peace Region. You will set up and tear down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other equipment, while ensuring safety precautions and efficient changeovers for every show.

The position is part-time, requires heavy lifting and flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, and offers pension matching.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and tear down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment.
  • Participate in all aspects of conversion for events and perform general labor as assigned.
  • Build conversion for various events and ensure equipment is stored, cleaned, and maintained.
  • Respond to set-up issues promptly and coordinate with staff and management.
  • Work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Position Summary

The Conversion Crew are the nuts and bolts of our operations team, making sure our events can go off without a hitch. The Conversion Crew is the team that makes sure all equipment is set up in the venue and that all safety precautions are put in place during the setup so our guests are safe in their seats while they enjoy their performance.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18 .75 - $22.00 CAD

About The Venue

The Ovintiv Events Centre, operated by Oak View Group, is the premier event facility providing a wide range of sports and entertainment opportunities for the Alberta and British Columbia Peace Region.

Responsibilities
  • Setting up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment.
  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events while p erforming general labor as assigned.
  • Primary duties include building conversion for various events.
  • Setup and take-down of chairs, tables, ice decking, dasher boards, Plexiglas, and stages,
  • Actively care for all equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment.
  • Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management.
  • Responding to promoters'/clients' needs as directed.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations of the facility are met, including, but not limited to, loading/unloading delivery trucks, transporting trash and waste to the proper disposal area, and replenishing supplies
  • Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning
  • Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas and entrances
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as painting, patching, and other conversion-related operational equipment
  • Follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.
  • Works effectively under pressure and stringent schedules to produce accurate results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to follow basic instructions and directions.
  • Ability to perform general labor and heavy lifting is required.
  • Must be able to work in a manner that is safe and effective.
  • Must be able to work effectively under deadlines driven by event schedules and project timelines.

  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions accurately while communicating clearly and effectively.
