Job summary

Oak View Group (OVG) is seeking a Facility Operator to support ice installation, arena operations, and daily site maintenance at Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, you’ll contribute to event setup, housekeeping, and safety with a strong customer-service mindset.

The role requires flexibility, manual work, and teamwork as you handle resurfacing, equipment operation, and basic repairs to keep the venue ready for games and community events.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience cleaning a business facility preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and climb ladders/work from heights as required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work independently and under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
• Strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with arena ice installation, removal, and daily/weekly maintenance. Resurface hockey ice based on usage and need.
• Working knowledge of operations equipment, including staging, audiovisual, lighting, small equipment tools, pallet jacks, forklifts, ice resurfacer, edgers, etc.
• Assist with event preparations, including but not limited to stage setup and tear-down, a set of tables and chairs, AV equipment, and meeting room spaces as required.
• Set up and tear down and preparation of Main Tenant games and/or events
• Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns as required.
• Demonstrate attention to detail.
• Provide exceptional customer service to our clients and fans.
• Perform maintenance, including but not limited to painting, drywall repairs, maintaining exterior sidewalks, snow and ice removal, parking lots and grounds, and various other tasks.
• Cleaning to meet sanitation requirements and protocols. Areas included but not limited to bathrooms, bowl seating, common areas, dressing rooms, hockey benches, and meeting rooms.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Facility Operator will perform a variety of tasks related to ice installation and preparations, event setup and tear-down, housekeeping duties, preventative facility maintenance, emergency repairs, and day-to-day operations while maintaining a cohesive and team approach to work environment with an expectation of a high level of customer service.

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.00 - $20.00 CAD.

About The Venue

The Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw stands as southern Saskatchewan’s premier venue, encompassing 210,000 square feet of versatile space dedicated to community recreation and entertainment, boasting a 4500-seat arena, an 8-sheet curling rink with a two-tier lounge overlooking the ice and meeting and conference spaces.
