Job summary

The Town of Milton is seeking a Facility Lead Hand to oversee daily facility operations, lead maintenance staff, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. You will manage preventative maintenance, coordinate inventories, and liaise with stakeholders to support municipal assets.

You will train staff on equipment operation, monitor licenses and warranties, and contribute to capital budgeting and planning for facility upgrades and repairs.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a secondary school diploma; a post-secondary diploma in recreation/leisure or facility management is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of facility operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety compliance.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to supervise part-time staff and coordinate maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise facility maintenance staff to ensure safe, efficient daily operations.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Coordinate purchasing, inventory, and contractor management within the budget.
• Plan daily work and safety talks; respond to service requests promptly and professionally.
