Job summary

City of Toronto is seeking a part-time Facility Attendant 2 to support events, visitor services and daily operations across multiple cultural sites in Toronto. You will help guests, set up spaces, and ensure facilities are safe while engaging the public.

The role offers rotating weekday, evening and weekend shifts in museums, galleries and historic places with steady hours and hands-on event experience in a public sector setting.

Qualifications

  • Direct customer service experience is required.
  • Work history in rental facilities or event spaces is required.
  • Must have Grade 12 education or equivalent mix of education and work history.
  • Knowledge of event operations and safety procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with building security, fire safety and evacuation procedures.
  • Share event details with volunteer ushers and staff.
  • Respond to assistance requests from rental clients and visitors.
  • Help with front of house services and concession preparation.
  • Process basic financial transactions and registrations.
  • Remove waste, shovel snow and salt walkways.
  • Open, close and monitor facilities during operating hours.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions and fire drills.

Job description

The Facility Attendant 2 position with the City of Toronto kind of supports events, visitor services and day to day operations across a few cultural and heritage locations around Toronto. In short, the work is about helping guests, setting up event spaces and making certain the facilities stay safe plus inviting the public.

This is a part time role with weekday, evening and weekend shifts at museums, galleries and historic places throughout the city. Team members help with front of house services, monitor facilities, do light janitorial type tasks and also support events when it gets busy in public settings.

Job Description

  • Strong interaction skills and teamwork skills are required.
  • Must have good problem solving skills and sound judgement.
  • Must be flexible, reliable and punctual.
  • Can work solo and keep that self motivated vibe going.
  • Needs to have a valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Must be willing to get one before starting.
  • Can lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
