Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health in Dauphin Regional Health Centre is seeking a Maintenance worker responsible for keeping facilities, grounds, and equipment safe and well-maintained. You will assist trades, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure infection control and environmental standards are met.

The role requires Grade 12, apprenticeship in building trades, several years of site maintenance experience, and a Manitoba driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education (MB Standards)
• Minimum of one year apprenticeship in a building trade preferred
• Two years’ experience in a building trade
• One year maintenance experience preferred
• Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and IT
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and respect confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds in a safe, good condition
• Keep driveways and exits clear of snow and debris
• Perform grounds keeping for attractive facility appearance
• Maintain machinery, equipment and furnishings
• Record preventative maintenance on log
• Maintain repairs log for major equipment
• Carry out plumbing, carpentry, painting, refrigeration and related maintenance as qualified
• Assist other trades and participate in new construction and commissioning
• Respond to emergencies and on-call rotation
• Receive deliveries and maintain maintenance areas
